Last July Trump announced that Sarah Palin would not be attending the Republican Convention because Alaska was just too darn far away. The long distance was never a problem before. Sarah has appeared in New York ,
So we knew that distance wasn’t the reason. What would be the reason Sarah might pass up such a high profile appearance, and a chance to trash Hillary?
Today it seems obvious that …as always with Sarah…it’s all about the money.
She’s been trying to sell her house in Arizona since December of 2015. The original asking price was $2,500,000.00. Today we learn that she sold it for $2,275,000.00. Perhaps the fact that she took $275,000 less than the asking price isn’t as significant as the fact that she was selling it. So is Sarah strapped for cash?
The answer appears to be YES! Open Secrets reports that as of September 12, 2016 SarahPAC only had $171,686.00 cash on hand! Even more telling is the news that since the 2014 election cycle, SarahPAC has spent more money that the donations it received.
In 2014 Sarah PAC raised: $2.8 Million Dollars
In 2014 Sarah PAC spent : $3.1 Million Dollars
In 2014 Sarah PAC experienced a net loss of $300,000.00.
In 2016 Sarah PAC has raised $1.2 Million Dollars
In 2016 Sarah PAC has spent $1.9 Million Dollars
In 2016 Sarah PAC has experienced a net loss, so far this year of $700,000.00
As of June 30, 2016 Sarah PAC only had $171,686.00 cash on hand. The Convention occurred on July 18, 2016. I suspect that at the rate of cash going out the door that Sarah couldn’t afford to pay for the long flight from Alaska to appear at the convention. What Open Secrets doesn’t tell us is the outstanding debt of Sarah PAC. If Sarah’s history in her short time in office is any indication, she may be in significant debt.
She sold the RV:
She sold the Arizona home:
Sarah’s out of work:
Todd’s out of work:
Track’s out of work:
Willow, Piper, and Trig are still living at home. No new books are scheduled to come out this fall, and even if they did, Sarah PAC doesn’t have the money to buy them! Legal fees are out of control.
Palin called President Obama “lazy”.
It seems that Sarah is the one who is lazy now. Now that people have realized that they were being scammed, Sarah might have to get a real job. Maybe Dr. Jack Me-Off needs another technician? Maybe Sarah will have to stop hiring babysitters to care for Trig? Maybe when she gives a speech she will only be able to demand one water bottle, instead of two. Maybe she’ll have to fly coach like the rest of us. Maybe Bristol can lend her some other clothes. Maybe she’ll have to eat some of that moose in the freezer. Famous Footware in Wasilla is looking for a shoe salesman. Sarah loves shoes, so maybe this would be an ideal fit!?
After Sara Palin’s suggestion that Track was a victim of PTSD, and the lack of treatment for same was Obama’s fault, “Jo Ann” posted the following comment:
“If I can speak as a former Alaskan-grown-and-raised person (mostly in Wasilla, no less), therefore speaking from experience, domestic violence/parent abandonment/drugs/alcohol/prostitution/poor schooling/low income/out-of-wedlock birth/fetal alcohol syndrome/gun violence/mental illness/rape/prison time is everyday life in Alaska.
The exception is that Sarah is a wealthy woman, and whose children are suffering from ‘affluenza’ and have been neglected to the nth degree. Thus, they can by with anything they want because they face NO consequences at all – most people I grew up with were very poor (working class) and definitely had to face corporal punishment for our misbehavior. This bordered on criminal parental physical/mental abuse.
Sarah is clearly a sociopath whom blames others for all her problems. I know many people like this. My now-deceased father adored Palin. One brother debated her in her first governor’s race. My other brother did the Palin’s plumbing at the compound and I have a sister who, as an entertainer, played many gigs for Sarah. I thank my lucky stars I never had to encounter the beast.
I had a son in Iraq for two tours – he wasn’t driving an officer around like Track, he was in COMBAT. That involves killing people and people trying to kill you. He has PTSD but has NEVER threatened any person since his return. Sarah is so full of BS to blame Obama for Track’s violence. What a load……Track probably had it since he found out Todd is not his real father. But his is not an uncommon attitude among Alaskan men, both young and old. They definitely have a chip on their shoulder and are always looking for a fight (generalizing here but true). They are ticked off and you do not want to engage them. Trust me. Do not engage. Evade.
Trump made a HUGE mistake with this crazy one. Sociopaths don’t feel empathy – nothing – except they MUST be on stage and receiving adoration at all times. Anything else is beneath them, including their own children. I am the product of sociopathic parents. It isn’t fun – it’ll drive you crazy if you don’t exit the situation as soon as possible.
Perhaps I should file a lawsuit against Trump for stirring up my own PTSD when Sarah recently appeared on stage with him. I had successfully recovered from the 2008 election and was doing fine until………..flashback. “(Hello API? We’ve got an emergency here!”) Now the nightmares are starting again. I’ll think tonight I’ll be watching two shows – ‘Deliverance’ (I hear banjos) and ‘Idiocracy’. Yep, apparently this craziness is how the world truly works or maybe it’s because I’m a former Alaskan who believes if one can survive Alaska, they can survive ANYTHING. Even Sarah Palin.”
Thank you JoAnne for sharing your perspective and insight into the Palin family. I suspect that many residents of Wasilla know this to be true, but are afraid to speak out. If more people would speak out, there’d be safety in numbers. We can’t afford another Presidential race where Sarah Palin has any power of persuasion! Tell all your friends to comment on blogs and tell what they know. On behalf of every American, I thank you. Malia
“GENE” POSTED THIS COMMENT WHICH INDICATES IT WAS FROM THE NIECE OF SARAH PALIN. Thanks gene for passing this on.
“Sarah Palins niece posted this comment on another site tonight:
Also anyone who is a “insider” that says track has only been violent since his fake military “career” must only have been an insider for about as long as track spent in Iraq. (In other words NOT LONG)
He has been a violent prick for like 10 yrs. Maybe longer. But he started beating the shit out of people on his own fuckin sports teams (hockey) when he was in like 9th grade. He was known citywide for being an aggressive asshole by 10th. If you literally blinked at him wrong, he would thrash your ass right there on the ice. I bet there was 50 games where he was pulled before 2 full mins went by. He also has gone apeshit on my uncle more than once. He drinks to almost blackout stage and it’s like the booze goes in and the fists come out. He has had broken ribs twice and a fractured wrist and a concussion. All from fights he picked with different people over the last couple yrs.’
Shamus sent this link: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/430185/sarah-palin-son-girlfriend-violence-post-traumatic-stress-disorder which says it all.
In Sarah Palin’s recent appearance, endorsing the Donald, not only was Donald Trump complimentary of Palin; he described her as “spectacular”. I guess he missed the interview of Steve Schmidt by Anderson Cooper, where coincidentally he referred to dealing with Sarah Palin as causing PTSD.
Donald Trump forgot about he PTSD suffered by Nicole Wallace following the ’08 campaign, as a result of Sarah Palin.
Here is the full event where Trump described his respect for Sarah Palin. He said he has respected Palin for “so long.” She has an “incredible” husband, and an “incredible” family. (1:13:22)
But, her incredible husband is a pimp.
Both Todd and his attorney refused to deny he was a pimp.
Trump said he also wouldn’t rule out adding Palin to his 2016 ticket, if he wins the nomination.
The Donald must not have seen the coverage on Fox the day after the 2008 election.
HOwever, the most repugnant thing that happened is that Sarah blamed Track’s recent domestic violence arrest, and threatened suicide on PTSD arising from his service in the armed forces in 2007 and 2008. She then suggested that the problem was really President Obama’s fault because he has failed to make services available to help out veterans.
WHAT A CROCK OF IT!
- It has been 7 years since Track was in the armed services. Since that time he has married, divorced, and become a father. There was no mention of PTSD during that time in his life.
2. Track has been living at home, so if he suffers from PTSD, it is likely the result of too much exposure to his mother.
3. There are four treatment centers available to Track in Alaska for vets with PTSD. There is one in Wasilla:
Wasilla Vet Center
851 E. West Point Drive, #111
Wasilla, AK 99654
Toll Free: 1-800-478-4318
Certainly we have never heard before that Track was suffering from PTSD, or that he was seeking help, or that he didn’t get the help he needed at the local center.
More significantly, if Track really had PTSD, the worst thing a caring family could do would be to leave Track at home, without support, with a lot of guns in the house.
Let’s pause for a moment and consider what type of a man hits and kicks a woman. Regardless of whether he has PTSD or was intoxicated, domestic violence should never be tolerated. The image of Track’s girlfriend hiding under the bed in fear, having been hit in the face, and kicked, is unforgivable. If anyone will have PTSD it is the woman Track battered.
It’s been over a year since my post on the Palin Family is White Trash. That post followed the Palin family brawl. That brawl involved Sarah, Todd, Track, Bristol, Willow, and Tripp. There was no suggestion of PTSD at that time. Certainly Todd, Sarah, Bristol, Willow and Tripp had never served in the military. Bristol has had another child out of wedlock. Track has battered a woman. Bristol’s best friend is a porn star. There is more proof than ever that this family is filthy white trash.
It doesn’t take an expert to realize that the national debt is the single most challenging problem facing our country at this time in history. During the election of 2008 McCain “suspended” his campaign to focus on the economy. Gas was $4.00 per gallon; the rate of unemployment was frightening; Wall Street was a disaster; banks were in crisis; the auto industry was on the verge of bankruptcy; and health care in the United States was more expensive than in virtually any other country in the world. In 2008, the combination of George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, and the economy, were a fatal combination for the Republican Party. The national debt has now increased. If we are to have a chance of saving the country, it is incumbent upon each of us to understand how we got here, and took look for committed leaders to solve our economic challenges.
Students of history know that certain facts are incontrovertible:
1. Our nation began its existence in debt as a result of the Revolutionary War.
2. Before Jackson left office he was successful in reducing the national debt to $18,000.
3. The national debt has increased as a result of every major war. The national debt has virtually never been reduced since Jackson.
4. Since 1946, Democratic presidents increased the national debt by an average of 3.2% per year.
5. Since 1946 Republican presidents have increased the national debt by an average of 9.2% per year.
6. Republican presidents, Reagan, Bush, and Bush II raised the debt an average of 10.8% per year. That means that for every dollar a Democratic President raised the national debt in the last 30 years, Republican presidents have raised the debt by $2.52.
7. Since 1961 the debt of the United States has never been reduced.
8. The United States is borrowing more money than all other nations on Earth combined.
9. The national debt has grown and continues to grow at an unsustainable rate.
10. In the past 60 years, when the Republicans were in control of the presidency and both Houses of Congress, neither debt nor government spending was reduced. Both Democrats and Republicans are responsible for the national debt. “We the people” have been the beneficiaries of this spending.
12. For the 2010 budget the following costs are incontrovertible:
13. Studies have shown that 5% of Medicare patients who die each year account for 30% of Medicare’s costs, with 75% of the expenses of the last year of life occurring in the month before death. This translates into roughly $226 billion which represents dollars spent during the last year of life for medical treatment of people on Medicare. Of that $226 billion dollars, $169 billion is spent in the month before death.
Given this historical analysis, it seems there is little about which informed people might argue.
- The debt of the United States is unsustainable.
- The solution to the economic woes of our country will require the cooperation of the President and both Houses of Congress, and elected officials, regardless of their political party, who are committed to finding solutions to economic challenges facing the country, instead of increasing their own personal wealth.
- Increasing military spending, increasing entitlements, and cutting taxes are inconsistent with reducing the national debt.
Sarah Palin has branded herself as a “fiscal conservative”. How many times have we heard Ex-Governor Palin giving a speech about cutting taxes, increasing military spending, and concurrently reducing the national debt, without offering any explanation about how anyone could possibly accomplish those conflicting goals? Of course the minor details of implementing such an economic philosophy are not her concern since she has divorced herself from any responsibility for governance of any portion of the country. Isn’t it ironic that people pay large sums of money to hear her talk about reducing the national debt, while the debt increases each day along with Palin’s bank account? At the end of the speech the audience lacks any idea about how these conflicting goals could possibly be achieved, but they are more adamant than ever that the government should be able to accomplish the goal, because Sarah said it was so. Sarah Palin has become a millionaire, while our country sinks further in debt. Who would disagree with a pretty lady when she says that we should lower taxes, protect our country from foreign enemies, and balance the budget? Divine intervention is the only answer that Palin offers to accomplish her goals. She is right about that. She has also figured out how to suggest a solution to the financial crisis that would not negatively impact anyone. If God could save us, then we don’t have to make any hard choices. A miracle is the only solution to our national debt if we are unwilling to make some hard choices. The problem is that if divine intervention was the answer, it seems like God would have intervened long before now. Patience is a virtue, but if God was going to save us, surely it wouldn’t take him more than 200 years.
In the past it would have been political suicide for any politician to express a desire to limit or reduce Medicare, and/or social security, and/or to increase taxes. People with the money are the ones funding the political campaigns, so who would win an election by advocating an increase in taxes? People supported by social security and Medicare represent a substantial voting block. If those senior citizens are not going to live to realize the consequences of the financial catastrophe we will face if the debt is not addressed, why would they vote to elect a candidate who would negatively impact the limited life they have left?
Because Sarah Palin is no longer a politician, and because she doesn’t articulate a specific plan for implementing any policies she promotes, the only yard stick available is her record as an elected official. As mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin inherited a town with NO debt and left the town in debt in excess of $22,000,000. Certainly that would not be consistent with my definition of a fiscal conservative. When Palin resigned as Governor, Alaska was the state with a 70% debt to GDP ratio, which was the highest state debt burden in the country. Palin advertised herself as a politician opposed to earmarks. The reality is that before she resigned as Governor, she requested $198 million in earmarks for Alaska. While mayor of Wasilla, a town of 6,715 people, Palin hired a lobbyist, which led to the tiny town of Wasilla receiving almost $27,000,000 in federal tax dollars. Either Sarah Palin doesn’t understand what an earmark is or she’s lying.
This doesn’t sound like “common sense” to me; it sounds like a celebrity attempting to increase her personal wealth at the expense of America. If we are truly patriots, we must learn to recognize the motivations of people who are happy to take advantage of our fellow citizens.
Republicans, Democrats, and even Tea Baggers are all responsible for our national debt. Republicans have been associated with increases in military spending. Democrats have been associated with increases in entitlements. Even Tea Baggers have demonstrated their objection to governmental spending while advocating for more defense spending, and displaying signs suggesting that we should not touch their social security or Medicare.
The only commitment Sarah Palin seems to have is the commitment to increasing the balance in her personal bank account as fast as she can. Palin suggests that the current national budget is “immoral” and constitutes “generational theft”. The only thing truly “immoral” is lying to people about being opposed to earmarks, when you hired a lobbyist to obtain earmarks, and received over $26,000,000 of our federal tax dollars in earmarks. The only “generational theft” that I have seen is the use of Palin’s own PAC funds, which were donated by retired people, that Palin ultimately used for her personal benefit.
Most politicians are quick to say that the debt is “unsustainable.” Yet who have you seen that is willing to run on a platform of raising taxes, reducing entitlements, or reducing military spending? Sarah Palin is the worst offender. She intentionally misleads and/or lies. She chose to remove herself from a political position where she might actually have had a chance to facilitate change. She is quick to criticize those with more education and experience than she, suggesting that they must not be praying hard enough to be worthy of divine intervention. Thus to criticize Sarah Palin is perceived by some as criticizing God. The only divine intervention for which I pray for is the recognition of the hypocrisy of Sarah Palin. The United States desperately needs solutions, and politicians willing to do that which is necessary to facilitate them. Sarah Palin is no longer a politician. She is a wealthy celebrity. If Lady Gaga were to become an advocate for a political ideology, her celebrity status would suffer. Lady Gaga has the common sense to limit her performances to singing. Unfortunately Sarah Palin lacks common sense, though she does have a lot of personal cents.
A lot. For over one year I have been researching, reading, and writing about the multitude of things that have led me to believe that Sarah Palin is unfit to serve in any capacity, at any level of government. The list of her failings is long and impressive. When someone asks me why I dislike Palin I have to pause and catch my breath. It is hard to know where to begin. Her attitude regarding homosexuality, banning books, reproductive freedom, race, equal pay for women, unethical behavior, charges to her PAC, attitudes toward people who work for her, the number of days Piper misses school, her use of Trig as a prop, the hypocrisy inherent in virtually everything she says compared to what she does, resignation from her position as Governor, personal charges for travel expenses of her children passed on to the people of Alaska, shooting animals, endangering the environment, her lack of understanding of countries around the world and basic geography, lack of education, blatant disregard for scientific evidence for evolution, lecturing at right to life rallies while hiring Lynn Vincent to be the ghost writer of her book knowing that Lynn admitted to having had an abortion, indicating that Bristol and Levi were going to marry and that would solve the problem of an unwed teenage pregnancy, mocking our President for having an understanding of the US Constitution, writing letters to herself in God’s voice and her attitudes regarding responsibility as a mother are just a few of the many things with which I take issue. However people might try to explain away my total lack of respect for Palin, suggesting that we simply have different world views. People might suggest that just because I disagree with her politics, that they still don’t understand my ongoing efforts to discredit her. On most of the issues mentioned, I recognize that there are a multitude of politicians who hold beliefs similar to Palin’s, so why would I object to Sarah Palin to the point of writing an entire book, writing daily entries on this blog, and submitting articles to Huffington Post for the entire nation to read? Palin has done so many objectionable things over the last year-and-a-half that we tend to forget the egregious things she did before the day she was introduced at the Republican Convention. In case anyone has forgotten, let me remind you of the two things that got me started: the hockey center and the Road to Nowhere.
While mayor of Wasilla, Palin authorized the construction of a hockey center on property she KNEW was not owned by the town of Wasilla (Litman 23). We might speculate about the house she was building at the same time, and whether the same contractor who was building the hockey center, and her home, might be giving her some personal reward for awarding the multi-million dollar contract on the hockey center to his company. I don’t know why Palin wanted to build the center on that particular property owned by someone else, and I don’t care. However, it matters to me that she instituted an adverse possession lawsuit against the land owner in an attempt to take his property. It does matter to me that she proceeded with construction of the hockey center before the city obtained title to the land. It does matter to me that because she proceeded to initiate construction before the town had title to the land, the town incurred over $1,000,000 in unnecessary expenses (23). It matters to me that the judge in the case found that Sarah had no right to begin construction of a building on property that she knew was not owned by the town. Her judgment, or lack thereof, in this example demonstrates a total lack of responsibility to the people of the town, and a total disregard to the rights of the property owner.
This is not about politics. It’s about judgment and about respecting the rights of an individual citizen. There is surely nothing more objectionable than a politician attempting to confiscate that which you own, without any legal basis for doing so, but only because that politician wants something you have. This is not an example of something Palin did due to ignorance or lack of education. This was a fundamental error in judgment, or worse, an attitude that she could do whatever she wanted regardless of the rights of another person.
The second example is the Road to Nowhere. Palin made the Bridge to Nowhere a household word as a result of her speech at the Republican Convention. Many of us would tell you the bridge represented a waste of tax payer dollars. There was a lot of controversy about whether Palin changed her position regarding the bridge, when it was convenient for her politically (she announced that she said “Thanks, but no thanks”, when she had originally been an advocate for the bridge, and has even been seen showing off her t-shirt supporting the bridge). However there is no dispute that the Road to Nowhere had absolutely no purpose, other than to waste taxpayer dollars. When Congress originally approved the funding for the construction of the bridge, there was also an allocation of $25,000,000 for the construction of the road leading from the airport to the bridge. When Congress withdrew the funding for the bridge, the funding for the road was overlooked. Sarah Palin indicated that “yes” she was still in favor of the construction of the road which she knew would now lead to the edge of a cliff. According to the Alaska Transportation Priorities Project, a group promoting “sensible transportation systems in the state”, the Road to Nowhere was an “irresponsible waste”. Thus regardless of any philosophical differences you might have with a person on the right, or the left, we all agree that Palin knowingly wasted our money. She knowingly wasted millions of dollars! The only explanation for this waste is a “we versus them” mentality. If the people of Alaska would benefit from the jobs created by the construction of the road, then it didn’t seem to matter to Governor Palin that the use of millions of federal tax dollars was an indisputable waste.
These two examples highlight an attitude of Sarah Palin that is deplorable. These do not represent a political philosophy unless it is a philosophy of, “…if it is good for me, it doesn’t matter if it is a total waste of tax payer dollars, and it doesn’t matter if it interferes with the constitutional rights of another citizen.” We may suspect that many politicians have a similar attitude, but it is difficult to prove it. In the case of Sarah Palin, the facts are clear. Her attitude seems to be that she will do what is good for her, and “to hell with the rest of us”.
