It’s been 8 years since that astonishing day that John McCain tapped Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate. Since that painful moment, Sarah has proven herself to be just as ignorant, vicious, and bigoted as she was then. Only a few things have changed. (1) Bristol is on her third/fourth/fifth pregnancy. (2) Shailey Tripp is no longer working for Todd. (3) Track has fathered two children out of wed lock. (4) Sarah is 8 years older. She has attempted to change her hair, breast size, hair color, facial contour, glasses, but has totally failed to educate herself about political issues. Sarah has turned on Ted Cruz (She endorsed Trump instead of Cruz) Sarah has turned on Lisa Murkowski, the Republican Senator from Alaska. Sarah has turned on John McCain. (Sarah endorsed Trump and he doesn’t like losers). Now she’s turned on Trump.
Now she’s reverted back to attacking President Obama, and making references to slavery. She said:
“Fail baby Fail,” “Obama’s destructive ‘energy plan’ enslaves America to unfriendly nations, which he’s been warned about for eight years.”
Thus in one Facebook post Sarah Palin tried to revive the “Drill Baby Drill” slogan, lodge another attack on Obama even though he has days, not months, left in office, and make inappropriate references to slavery.
Palin was complaining about Obama recent executive order blocking oil and gas drilling in Arctic and Atlantic oceans
The order came after hundreds of kayaktivists protested drilling in the Arctic and the Port of Seattle being used as a port for the Shell Oil drilling rig Polar Pioneer.
This was another attempt by President Obama to solidify his environmental legacy. This order withdraws hundreds of millions of acres of federally owned land in the Arctic and Atlantic Ocean from new offshore oil and gas drilling. Obama used a little-known law called the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to protect large portions of the Chukchi and Beaufort seas in the Arctic and a string of canyons in the Atlantic stretching from Massachusetts to Virginia. In addition to a five-year moratorium already in place in the Atlantic, removing the canyons from drilling puts much of the eastern seaboard off limits to oil exploration even if companies develop plans to operate around them.
The announcement by the White House late in the afternoon was coordinated with similar steps being taken by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to shield large areas of that nation’s Arctic waters from drilling. Neither measure affects leases already held by oil and gas companies and drilling activity in state waters.
This is not the first time Obama has used the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. He did it to safeguard Alaska’s Bristol Bay in 2014, and again last year to protect part of Alaska’s Arctic coast. The president has protected 125 million acres in the region in the last two years, according to a fact sheet issued by the White House. Sarah probably didn’t know about those.
These areas Obama is trying to protect are widely recognized as major biodiversity hotspots that are critical to fisheries. The canyons provide deep water corals used by a wide array of fish. The area also provides habitat “for . . . deepwater corals, deep diving beaked whales, commercially valuable fishes, and significant numbers of habitat-forming soft and hard corals, sponges, and crabs,” the White House said.
Rhea Suh, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, called it “a historic victory in our fight to save our Arctic and Atlantic waters, marine life, coastal communities and all they support.” Carter Roberts, president and chief executive of the World Wildlife Fund, applauded what he called “a bold decision” that “signals some places are just too important not to protect.”
Moreover the country is not in need of additional oil resources. The current oil in the Arctic represents a mere one tenth of one percent of the nation’s oil production overall. World oil production is in balance. The long decline in U.S. crude oil production appears to be over. September 2016 output increased 60,000 bopd. Thus, the limits on drilling isn’t “enslaving” America. Obama has protected the country.
So it’s been 8 years of Sarah Palin attacking Obama and making inappropriate references to slavery. No other celebrity or political figure has ever devoted so many years to attacking a politician without any alternative proposals. No other person has absolved themself of any responsibility for making any positive change while pretending to care about acts of those in power.
We are tired of the same old whine from Sarah Palin. I’d rather listen to the Four Tops:
From the moment we learned who Sarah Palin was we watched as she used her Down’s Syndrome child for political purposes. With the recent failure of her latest book, it is speculated that Trig may be writing the next book. Maybe he will explain these passages of scripture:
- She lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. Ezekiel 23:20 NIV
- You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit. Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them. . . . The Lord will afflict your knees and legs with painful boils that cannot be cured, spreading from the soles of your feet to the top of your head. Deuteronomy 28:30-31,35
Bill Maher has been known to take humor beyond my idea of good taste. However this twitter war between Palin and the Pope was priceless.
The routine was sparked by Palin’s comments about the Pope. Jake Tapper interviewed Palin about the Pope and her view of Christianity.
What do you think about Pope Francis? Jake asked. Palin responded:
“He’s had some statements that to me sound kinda liberal to me, has taken me aback.”
Palin later tried to take her statement back after she was called-out in the press. She resorted to Facebook where she said:
“It was not my intention to be critical of Pope Francis. I was reminding viewers that we need to do our own homework on new subjects, and I hadn’t done mine yet on the Pope’s recent comments as reported by the media.”
Thus Palin apologized for saying that the Pope was liberal, but she didn’t say that he wasn’t liberal, or that she was infact critical of him.
Yesterday, without saying they were defending Palin’s criticism of the Pope, Breitbart News reported that the Pope came to the United States to “slap” conservatives in the United States. Characterizing the Pope’s visit as an “unmitigated boon for the left”, Breitbart suggested that the media had unfairly focused attention on the “Pope’s support for leftist causes “to the exclusion of his traditionally religious principles. ” The funny thing is that neither Breitbart or Palin discussed anything that represented this Pope’s positions on “traditionally religious principles.” Breitbart did report on SEVEN “liberal” positions taken by the Pope. They were:
- Death Penalty
- Global Warming
- The Need to Have Compassion for the Poor
- The Need to Respect Religious Liberty
- Human Rights Abuses
- Illegal Immigrants
- Same Sex MarriageBill Maher pointed out that if Sarah thinks the Pope is liberal, she might be surprised to learn that Jesus was even more liberal. Here is what the Bible says about these seven things:
- Death Penalty: Exodus 20:13 – Thou shalt not kill.
- Global Warming: Numbers 35:33- ‘So you shall not pollute the land in which you are…”
- The Poor: James 2:15-16- “Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don’t have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, “God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!” – if you don’t give them the necessities of life?”
- Religious Liberty: Romans 14:1-23 “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. …”
- Human Rights abuses: Romans 13:1-10 – “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.“
- Illegal Immigrants: Exodus 22:21 – “Moses gives God’s law: “You shall not wrong or oppress a resident alien; for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.”
- Same Sex Marriage: Luke 6:32 – “Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.…“
It is ironic that Palin’s new book has been advertised as having 260 meditations that use “biblical principles” to tackle contemporary issues, including economics, debt, social justice, marriage, parenting, human trafficking and more. It would appear that Palin purports to know more about Christian values than the Pope!
Consistent with her appeal to the religious base of “common sense conservatives,” Sarah Palin has announced the publication of “Sweet Freedom: A Devotional.” The book has been described as “ 260 “meditations” that apply “biblical principles” to contemporary issues.” Some cynics might believe that Palin is unable to articulate anything original. Relying on the Bible, instead of her direct conversations with God, is a profound indication that even God doesn’t want to talk to Sarah Palin any longer. For some that might be prophetic. If God no longer speaks to Sarah, then God couldn’t tell her to run for President in 2016. Palin stated that “ of course being a Christian, putting my life in God’s hands seeking guidance and inspiration divinely as to whether to run or not.”
The only thing more offensive than Palin using the Bible for profit, would be her use of a Special-needs child for profit. The amazing thing is that Palin seems comfortable writing books that evangelize and exhort the importance of living a Christian conservative. In her book America by Heart, Sarah proclaimed the importance of fathers. Perhaps she was targeting Levi when she said:
“families do matter and fathers do matter”(page 117)
“…this lack of fathers translated into high crime rates, rampant drug abuse, educational failure, and chronic welfare dependency.”(page 115).
The real problem is that Track got Britta pregnant out of wedlock. His child is being raised without a father in the house. Bristol is now pregnant out of wedlock, for the second time (or perhaps the third or fourth). Bristol has declared that she wanted to get pregnant, knowing that she was not married. Maybe had read anything except Green Eggs and Ham, she could have read the Bible to Bristol.
Maybe Bristol would have remembered any of these verses:
1. Hebrews 13:4 ESV
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
2. Deuteronomy 22:28-29
“If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his days.
3. 1 Corinthians 7:1-40
Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
4. Ephesians 5:3
But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.
5. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
6. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
7. 1 Thessalonians 4:3
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality;
8. 1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
To be clear, I don’t condemn Bristol for having sex out of wedlock. I condemn Sarah for pretending that she and her family are “common sense conservatives” who would never do anything proscribed by the Bible. I condemn Sarah for making money off people’s religious beliefs. I condemn Sarah for using PAC money to line her pockets by selling her books to the PAC and then claiming to have written a best-selling book.
