The deposition of Donald Trump in the Stormy Daniels case was delayed by the judge, just Thursday. Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti, explained that the judge didn’t rule that the deposition would never be taken.  Instead, the judge ruled that it was premature to take the deposition of Trump or his attorney, Michael Cohen.

Donald Trump has been uncharistically quiet about the Daniels’ interview.  It seems obvious that Trump’s attorney has threatened Trump that he may not say anything about Daniels and/or the allegations unless his attorney is present.  However Trump wasn’t able to remain silent for long.  As he was boarding a plane, a reporter fired questions to Trump, that Trump chose to answer.

Trump denied that he was aware of a payment by his attorney to Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged sexual encounter.

Trump admitted Cohen was his attorney. Trump didn’t know if there were any truth in the allegations that money was paid.

Trump said he didn’t know where the money came from that was paid to Daniels.

Avenatti, Daniels’ attorney said it was like Christmas time.  “This is what happens when you have an undisciplined client.  We waited for Christmas and lo and behold, it’s arrived.”

The really frightening thing is that these admissions came at virtuallly the same time as the fire in Trump Tower.  Trump will be believed when he lies unless there are documents or pictures to contradict him.  We have to wonder if the fire gave him new-found confidence that he’d never be caught.

  1. We had a crude expression when I worked on the docks. It was used to describe a guy who created his own problems by sheer stupidity. The AF1 comments are a great example. 45 “stepped on his crank” with that comment.
