With the Olympics on television around the world, it’s hard not to notice the impact of Donald Trump on the games. On Thursday, it was reported that Vice President Mike Pence, who is in the US delegate to the games, snubbed North Korean delegate Kim Yong Nam, according to Reuters. Pence reportedly refused to shake Yong’s hand at a dinner with political leaders, when he shook everyone else’s hand. Pence is also involved in a political tug of war with two out gay American athletes, skater Adam Rippon and skier Gus Kenworthy.
Also there is the scandal, involving Trump’s favorite country Russia. Only a few Russian athletes will be allowed to compete in this year’s games, after the World Anti-Doping Agency found evidence of systemic tampering with urine samples at the Sochi games.
But the big headlines from the opening ceremony was the appearance of Trump and Kim Jong Il impersonators.
