Shock is the only applicable descriptor to the reaction of McCain’s nomination of Sarah Palin in 2008. Never before had a person so ill equipped to be the President come so close to being in charge of the country. Sarah didn’t represent dedicated mothers or competent politicians. She pretended to be economically conservative, but she left Wasilla and the State of Alaska further in debt than when she took office. She pretended to object to waste of taxpayer money, but authorized the building of the road to nowhere when she knew that the Bridge to Nowhere would never be built. She used a Down’s Syndrome child for political gain.
She was unethical. She was motivated by money and little else. She pretended to be religious but never went to church. She pretended to value traditional family values, but her 5 grandchildren, conceived out of wedlock, indicated that too was a farce. Todd Palin, the stay at home dad, not only never stayed at home, but worked as a pimp.
She quit her job as Governor as soon as she could make more money being an Ex-Governor.
By October 2010 only 22% of Americans viewed her favorably.
The presence of Sarah Palin in American politics represented a new low. Palin’s famous explanation of Paul Revere cemented her place in history as the candidate who was the most ignorant, and the most embarrassing to America in history.
She used other people’s money to pay for her to fly in private planes and/or travel first class on public airlines. She endorsed Trump.
When Donald Trump entered the 2016 campaign, most people laughed at him. Some even said he didn’t WANT to be President. Most people thought our political system of government could not get worse than Sarah Palin. The election of Donald Trump proved that it not only could get worse, …it has.
Months after his inauguration, it is clear that Trump doesn’t want the job. If he did, … “he’d nominate candidates to the 350 important but vacant administration jobs and get on with the job of governance. He doesn’t seem to want to be commander in chief of the armed forces, either, having outsourced Afghanistan troop-level decisions to Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Don’t burden him with foreign policy—which so daunts him that he’s postponed an official trip to Britain because (as some report) he fears the inevitable protests that will greet him. Nor is he much interested in upholding the oath he took on Inauguration Day, promising to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” He proves this lack of interest every day by ignoring the Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause.” He has violated his oath of office by his pardon of Sheriff Joe Arapio who not only violated the constitutional rights of citizens, but boldly violated a Court Order attempting to stop the ongoing violation of the constitutional rights of Arizona citizens.
Being President was harder than he thought.
He disdains the rule of law. He’s trampling norms of presidential behavior. And he’s bringing vital institutions down with him.
“Donald trump is testing the institution of the presidency unlike any of his 43 predecessors. We have never had a president so ill-informed about the nature of his office, so openly mendacious, so self-destructive, or so brazen in his abusive attacks on the courts, the press, Congress (including members of his own party), and even senior officials within his own administration. Trump is a Frankenstein’s monster of past presidents’ worst attributes: Andrew Jackson’s rage; Millard Fillmore’s bigotry; James Buchanan’s incompetence and spite; Theodore Roosevelt’s self-aggrandizement; Richard Nixon’s paranoia, insecurity, and indifference to law; and Bill Clinton’s lack of self-control and reflexive dishonesty.”
In August a gallup poll showed Trump had fallen to a 34% approval rating.
Donald Trump is destroying our country, and we’re letting him do it! Trump is increasing his net worth at our expense!!!
