“A people that no longer can believe anything cannot make up its mind. It is deprived not only of its capacity to act but also of its capacity to think and to judge. And with such a people you can then do what you please.” Trump represents a clear and present danger to America because Americans no longer have the ability to know the truth. When we can’t trust our President to tell the truth, we can’t trust anyone!
Donald Trump has lied so many times that it is hard to know what to believe. Donald Trump is the highest profile originator of “Fake News”. Remember when he said there were tapes from conversations between he and James Comey? That was fake news. Remember when Donald Trump said that Barack Obama wasn’t a US citizen? That was fake news. Did you know that there was a law suit filed in D.C. alleging Fox News and a Trump supporter intended to deflect public attention from growing concern about the administration’s ties to the Russian government by fabricating quotations out of thin air? That was another example of not only Fake news, but of an intentional conspiracy to defraud the American people. Remember when Trump said his inauguration crowds were bigger than President Obama’s? That was fake news!
Remember when Trump claimed there weren’t many protesters outside his speech in Phoenix follow his comments on Charlottesville? That was fake news. The Phoenix Police Chief said there were “tens of thousands” of people out on the streets.
Trump is so bold about promoting untruths that he posts a fake Time magazine cover in at least four of his golf clubs.
Donald Trump has done it again. This time his “Fake News” is dangerous, and insulting to foreign countries. Trump posted this early-morning tweet at 3:42 am Washington D.C. time.
London is five hours ahead of Washington D.C. so 3:42 am in DC is 8:42 am in London. The bomb referenced in Trump’s tweet exploded at 8:20 am in London, just 22 minutes before Trump’s tweet. Thus twenty-two minutes after the attack, Trump suggests that authorities in London not only knew who committed the act of terrorism, but the person had been in the “sights of Scotland Yard.” Trump’s comment that we must be “proactive” is a clear indication that he was willing to criticize London authorities 22 minutes after the attack. Now it appears Trump got his information from a Fox News show that aired around the time of his tweet.
Predictably, British Prime Minister Theresa May was offended by Trump. She told President Trump she was displeased with his suggestion on Friday that the suspects in a London terrorist attack were “in the sights” of London’s Metropolitan Police, Bloomberg reported.
Mr. Trump was later briefed about the attack and called Mrs. May with condolences, according to a senior official, though he did not apologize.
This wasn’t the first time Trump offended British intelligence. In March, the White House press secretary at the time, Sean Spicer, repeated allegations that a British intelligence agency had wiretapped Trump Tower. British authorities dismissed the claim as “utterly ridiculous.”
The truth is that at the time of Trump’s tweets London police had not identified any suspects nor had they arrested anyone in connection with the attack. May said in a television interview Friday that speculation was not helpful in an ongoing investigation.
“I never think it’s helpful for anybody to speculate on what is an ongoing investigation,” she said.
Today, 24 hours later an 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack, though police have not identified or charged him. It’s unclear what role authorities believe he may have had in the incident.
Trump’s lies affect the diplomatic relations of the United States with countries around the world. When he insults Great Britan, our great ally, nobody can or should trust a word that he says.
