Trump Lies Even After Being Proved to be Lying

Adolph Hitler explained that the way to make people believe a lie, is to tell it often, and to make it a really big lie.  Donald Trump learned from the best.  He lies often and with great zeal.  President Trump has repeatedly proclaimed that he will build a wall between Mexico and the United States, and that Mexico will pay for the wall.

So far, Trump has totally failed to build his wall.  Even though he is still proclaiming that Mexico is going to pay for the wall, Trump announced in Arizona that he is willing to risk a budget crisis in order to honor a campaign pledge to build the wall.

“If we have to close down the government, we are building that wall,” Trump said Tuesday night during a campaign-style rally at the Phoenix Convention Center. He added that in electing him last November, the American people “voted for immigration control.”

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has repeatedly gone on record making it crystal clear  that Mexico would not pay for a border wall.

“It is evident that we have some differences with the new government of the United States, like the topic of the wall, that Mexico of course will not pay,” Nieto said during a speech in front of foreign diplomats at the National Palace according to reports.

Peña Nieto had similarly refuted the notion following a September meeting with then-candidate Trump in Mexico.

“At the start of the conversation with Donald Trump, I made it clear that Mexico will not pay for the wall,” Peña Nieto tweeted after the two politicians met.

Since February of 2016, Nieto’s predecessor made it crystal clear that Mexico was not going to pay for the “fucking wall.”

The amazing thing is that Trump seems to realize that Mexico will not pay for the wall as he has threatened a government shut down if Congress doesn’t approve the funding for the wall.  Simultaneously Trump is telling people, repeatedly, that Mexico is going to pay for the wall.

  1. Trump really is amazing. He keeps repeating this lie – does he think it will come true? He is so pathological I doubt he even gives it much thought – just keeps repeating it. He has done and said so many things that are truly frightening. His recent pardon of the former sheriff and the implications it could have to the Russian investigation is beyond alarming. No soul and no compassion for anyone but himself and his family/cronies.

  2. Looking at some of pictures and clips from the flooding in Texas. My heart aches for all of those people. So many will have lost everything – there will be so many needs. All who can help financially – hopefully – will come to their help. You are far from that area as I recall. Take care. Talk soon.

  3. and the NYT positively groveled over how engaged Drumpf looked at Camp David. Drumpf promised Hatrian’s Wall on Day 1 of his joke of a presidency.

Maybe Drumpf can start building it near Houston and make it a seawall. Might get public backing for that move.

  4. There are bridges here in Ohio with various types of “diapers” catching the concrete, rebar, and beam chunks that are falling off. We have the I-480 interstate bridge over Cuyahoga Valley, opened in 1977 that has a plywood plank subfloor catching debris. We have roads sliding down hillsides. 100 year old water pipes breaking and flooding roads and homes are a regular occurrence in most of the eastern half of the country.
But Trump is obsessed with a wall for a problem that has reversed itself. They are leaving. so are we. If Trump is in office this time next year, I will be living in Baja, watching the country fall apart, and taking trips north to spray graffiti on the wall. By then, the wall will be holding the gate to hell, the chaotic mess ironically called the “United” States.
