Jake Tapper of CNN was invited to hunt with Trump’s sons, and jokingly commented on the fact that he had previously been attacked by Donald Trump, and now he was out in a field with Trump’s sons who were carrying guns.
Less than a week after President Donald Trump posted a video on Twitter, edited to show the president body slamming the CNN logo, Donald Trump Jr. is continuing the anti-media meme war. In particular he is targeting CNN.
On Saturday, Donald Trump Jr. posted a video on Instagram that shows footage from “Top Gun” edited to appear as if Donald Trump is shooting a missile at a jet covered with the CNN logo. The CNN jet explodes after being hit by a missile from the Trump jet (the president’s face is superimposed over that of Tom Cruise’s “Maverick” character).
This is the original video posted by Trump.
This is the video but it seems to lack sound.
The image of Maverick blowing up a Mig (a Russian enemy jet) is a graphic image of all that is good about America, fighting a symbol of the enemy, which is Russia.
It’s ironic that Trump’s son used this image to depict his father since his father has done so much to indicate that Russia is his friend.
Trump has previously proclaimed his respect of Russia, even when Bill O’Reilly questioned Trump about the fact that Putin kills journalists who don’t agree with him. Trump’s response was to say that the US kills people too. Certainly the image of Trump killing CNN would be a typical response of Putin in the face of criticism by a reporter.
The posting of this footage is especially offensive in light of Trump meeting THIS WEEKEND with Vladimir Putin. Trump made concessions to Russia as if both countries are battling cyber terrorism, so now we will join as allies to fight this evil together. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., blasted President Trump on Sunday for his administration’s lack of a response to Russia’s attempts to interfere in the 2016 election, saying, “this whole idea of moving forward without punishing Russia is undercutting his entire presidency.” Just today Trump fired off a series of tweets on his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 Summit in Germany. Trump wrote:
“Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded.”
Republican Senator Graham said:
“It’s not the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard, but it’s pretty close.”
“… he had what I think is a disastrous meeting with President Putin. Two hours and fifteen minutes of meetings. Tillerson and Trump are ready to forgive and forget when it comes to cyber-attacks on the American election of 2016.
Other Republicans like Marco Rubio and John McCain expressed their disapproval and dismay that Trump pretended like Russia had not hacked the 2016 election. It is undisputed by the CIA, the NSA, and the FBI that the Russians interfered with the 2016 election. Yet Trump met with Putin and pretended to be aligned in interest. When the media in the US points out the danger of a US-Russian alliance, they become the target of a vicious attack by Trump family members.
Where is Pete Mitchell when we need him to take out the real enemy?
