Headlines have been consumed with the video footage of Trump’s smackdown from years ago. This is the original footage.
This is the footage posted on Twitter by Trump where the image of CNN was superimposed over the face of Trump’s adversary.
In an equally violent attack Chris Christie has smacked down the tax payers who elected him Governor of New Jersey. Christie has been totally willing to align himself with Trump,
even though Christie , while being interviewed on the beach, said that Trump wasn’t suited to be President.
Now that Trump has been elected Christie revealed his lack of integrity by sucking up to the man not suited to be President. Christie was passed over as a vice-presidential pick and later ousted from his post as head of Trump’s transition team days after the election. Christie slogged through weeks of brutal testimony during the Bridgegate trial, which led to the conviction of two of his allies on counts of corruption. (Both were recently sentenced to more than a year in prison.) The state’s credit rating has continued to plummet, and last week, a Morning Consult poll found that Christie was the most unpopular governor in the United States, with 71 percent of New Jersey voters disapproving of Christie.
It seems Christie has adopted a “who gives a shit” attitude toward the very people who elected him to serve as their Governor. Chris Christie has decided to spend his Independence Day weekend at a closed public beach… whose closure was caused by a budget shutdown that he ordered. And New Jerseyans are not pleased.
A statewide government shutdown early Friday morning caused the public closure of Island Beach State Park, a popular vacation spot, especially during 4th of July weekend.
But, according to Philly.com, as local police reportedly turned away “cars, bicyclists and joggers” on Saturday, Christie and his family treated themselves to a private vacation on the very beach Christie closed.
Christie was bold in his disdain for any criticism about his use of the closed beach. In fact, he’ll be joining his family there tonight, transported by a helicopter. Christie told reporters during a Sunday press conference that he would be going back to join his family. “That’s where my family is sleeping, so that’s where I’ll sleep tonight,” he said.
When asked by reporters why he could have access to the park while others couldn’t, he responded, “That’s just the way it goes.” He went on to add, “The governor has a residence at Island Beach. Others don’t. Run for governor and you can have the residence.” Philly affirms that the state of New Jersey does own a residence at the beach that the governor is permitted to use.
What a sad state of affairs when American politicians feel no sense of duty or obligation to be respectful of the people who elected them to office! Forget about attempting to keep campaign promises. Forget about behaving ethically as an elected official. Now our politicians spend our money on beach vacations we are prohibited from attending. When we ask about the disparate treatment of the Governor and his constituents, we’re told that’s just the way it goes.?!
