Kapooya! Kapooya! Trump Called Out on “Wiretapping” Claim!

John McCain has called on Trump to reveal the basis of the Obama wiretapping claim.  McCain explained that Trump could disclose the evidence immediately if the allegations of Trump were made in good faith.

Kellyanne Conway was asked about the allegations, and she failed to answer the question.  Instead she gave an amorphous answer, sounding more like Sarah Palin than a person fluent in conversational English.

Sean Spicer was asked at a White House briefing, by one of those pesky reporters, about the wiretapping allegations of Trump.  To everyone’s surprise, Spicer explained that wire-tapping doesn’t mean wire-tapping.

Spicer said:

“I think there’s no question that the Obama administration, that there were actions about surveillance and other activities that occurred in the 2016 election.”
“The President used the word wiretaps in quotes to mean, broadly, surveillance and other activities.”
6 days later, no more clarity from Trump on wiretapping claims
The backpedaling of Spicer is too little too late.  Monday, March 20th, is the deadline set by Congress by which the Justice Department is supposed to produce any evidence to substantiate Trump’s unproven assertion that his predecessor wiretapped his New York skyscraper during the election.

March 20th is also the date of the committee’s first open hearing on the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and possible contacts between President Trump associates and Russia.

“If the committee does not receive a response by then, the committee will ask for this information during the March 20 hearing and may resort to a compulsory process if our questions continue to go unanswered,” said Jack Langer, a spokesman for Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif.

The problem with the explanation Spicer has given about the Tweet in quotation marks is that in two other tweets, Trump described Obama tapping his phones, but did not put the phrases in quotation marks.

Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., asked Acting Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente and FBI Director James Comey to produce the paper trail created when the Justice Department’s criminal division secures warrants for wiretaps. The senators, who head the Senate Judiciary Committee’s crime and terrorism subcommittee, are seeking warrant applications and court orders, which they said can be scrubbed to protect secret intelligence sources and methods.

President Trump’s critics have slammed him for making the wiretapping claim. Wiretapping a U.S. citizen would require special permission from a court, and President Trump as president would have the ability to declassify that information.

Wiretapping is a narrowly defined surveillance activity that involves tapping into “a telephone or telegram wire in order to get information,” according to Merriam-Webster dictionary.

Remember Trump’s tweet was :
“Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower” and accused Obama of being a “bad” or “sick guy.”
Trump may be forgiven for grabbing the pussy of some unknown women and bragging about it.  However when he accuses Obama of the commission of a federal crime, he better produce evidence, or beg forgiveness. Kapooya! Kapooya!

  1. Malia –
Keep the video clip of Conway’s prevarications about the ACA vs what Trump is delivering because we’re going to be able to jam her words down her throat soon.
She is one of the most devious spokespersons I have ever heard. So many evasive answers as come out of her mouth. Talk about no credibility. She’s right up there with Trump!

  2. Thanks for disappearing the annoying wingnut and Dem animal heads from this site. I can read the article w/o distraction. Thanks again. mfi

  3. One cannot produce what one has never had. Trump made the claim on Twitter after reading a Breitbart post. He has come to expect that anything he tweets will not be challenged. He has to be surprised that this particular tweet is receiving a lot of negative attention, which is why he’s been hiding from the media recently. When some reporters at the WH last Friday tried to ask him about the evidence for the tweet, a member of his personal security team ushered them out of the WH. He doesn’t want to talk about this because it shows exactly how reckless, conspiracy-minded, unhinged, and that he is a big liar. The WH was supposed to turn over the evidence yesterday, but ended up asking for more time. As soon as the feces hit the fan after Trump made the tweet, he sent WH lawyers on a hunt to try to find evidence that PBO had his phones tapped. That they asked for more time yesterday informs me that they have found absolutely nothing. Whether they’ll ever admit it or not, Trump & Co. took a yuuge hit on this matter and are still trying to find a way to save face, so I expect him to continue avoiding the press. He sends Spicer out to take the hits, but Spicer can’t seem to get his act together and ends up talking Palinese.

  4. Ms. Kellyanne oughtta be locked up in the Faux News dungeon, never again to see the light of day. Why do mainstream news outlets waste their time and resources on this crazy-ass skank? Kellyanne proudly refuses to answer straightforward questions, so the orange man-baby won’t get really pissed and unleash a 3 a.m. Twitter rant about her loyalty and body parts. She comes equipped with a pre-programmed response of non sequitur, irrelevant talking points (probably from an embedded chip). Why do the interviewers let her get away with it? So they can get another interview, most likely, and the cycle continues.

By the way, did Kellyanne get that necklace from the Katrina “Bullets” Pierson Collection? It doesn’t look like something Princess Ivanka would try to peddle at Nordstrom. Pretty manly. Newborn chain mail, perhaps.

  5. “When he said Wiretapping, he didn’t MEAN Wiretapping.”
REALLY SEAN SPICER AND PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
The President Of The United States Of America has ZERO VALUE in language.

    NOW –
When someone says ‘I love you’, they don’t Mean ‘I love you’.
When a woman says ‘No’, she doesn’t Mean ‘No’.
When a mother says to her children ‘You will always be my child’, she doesn’t Mean ‘You will always be my child’.
When a murderer says to the judge ‘I didn’t Mean to stab my wife and kids 300 times, Your Honor’, he didn’t Mean to stab his wife and kids 300 times.

  6. Everyone is missing the point of Trump’s remark. He was making a racial slur, tap dancer, about President Obama. Naturally his mind mixed a few terms in the process. Trump wanted to call the President Mr. Bojangles, but also wanted to be indirect.
