Compare the size of the crowd from Obama’s inauguration to that of Trump.
Whatever numbers might be touted by Trump, this picture is the best evidence of the small crowd that actually turned out to watch the astonishing swearing in of the pussy-grabber in chief. The national mall was filled to capacity for Obama’s inauguration, but there was more white showing on the mall for the Trump inauguration that the area covered by the crowd.
More impressive were the number of people across the country, and the world who turned out to demonstrate their disdain for the pussy-grabber. Estimates of the number of people protesting are amazing! Originally organizers of the Women’s March on Washington expected more than 200,000 people to participate in the protest in D.C. D.C. Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice Kevin Donahue tweeted Saturday morning that the anticipated number had jumped to 500,000. Just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, the D.C. government’s Inauguration Twitter account said Metro stations were “at full capacity.” By 4 p.m., Metro said its ridership for the day was at 597,000. Perhaps the most objective comparison of numbers comes from the DC Metro which reported 275,000 rides as of 11 a.m. (1600 GMT) Saturday, 82,000 more than the 193,000 reported at the same time on Friday, Inauguration Day.
There were 670 gatherings around the world. People demonstrated their solidarity with the Washington protesters. There was an estimated global turnout of more than 4.6 million participants.
Protests occurred in from London to Los Angeles, Paris to Park City, Utah, Miami to Melbourne, Australia.
Protesters in Texas didn’t even make the national news. However there was an estimated n estimated 5,000 to 6,000 protesters in Fort Worth, an estimated 20,000 in Houston, 3000 in Dallas, and 50,000 in.Austin.
Women have come too far to forget the strides we have made, and we must stand up and ensure that we stay strong and invincible.
