Friday the Dallas Morning News online featured an article on the outrageous documents uncovered in my 4 year long fight with the FOIA office. The article appeared this morning in the actual Sunday edition of the DMN. The placement was impressive as it was highlighted on the cover of the “Metro and State” section of the paper. A quick check of the internet indicates the story has been picked up on 48 different web sites, including Drudge, boingboing, and reddit. I am so appreciative of the help of Dave Lieber, the watchdog for the DMN, and Marina Martinez for the time they devoted to making people aware of this outrage.
Thanking Dave for the article, I learned from Dave that the article had already been viewed over 170 thousand times as of yesterday, which is the largest viewership for a single article he has published this year. This is the power of the national media that I could never achieve as a blogger. Surely this is an indication that there is a sufficient indication of “public interest” in obtaining these records.
