Robert Kennedy, a man assassinated, prophetically said:
What has violence ever accomplished? What has it ever created? No martyr’s cause has ever been stilled by an assassin’s bullet. No wrongs have ever been righted by riots and civil disorders. A sniper is only a coward, not a hero; and an uncontrolled or uncontrollable mob is only the voice of madness, not the voice of the people.
Today, we listen to Donald Trump react to the speeches at the Democratic convention. Trump’s response is not to point out that anything said about him was a lie, an exaggeration, or even misleading. Instead he explained that he wanted to “hit a number of those speakers so hard, their heads would spin.”
It seems likely Trump was pointing out Michael Bloomberg as the person he’d especially like to hit.
Trump is 6’2″. Michael Bloomberg is 5’8″. It seems obvious that Bloomberg was the “little guy” Trump was advertising he’d like to hit. Imagine electing a President who believes the way to solve a problem is with violence. Imagine electing a President who is proud to be a bully! Trump response to Bloomberg simply confirms all that Bloomberg said about Trump.
Michael Bloomberg described his position in this election by saying:
“We need a problem solver and not a bomb thrower.”
“God help us.”
“I’m a New Yorker and I know a con when I see one.”
“The bottom line is that Trump is a risky, reckless, and radical choice and we can’t afford to make that choice.”
Michael Bloomberg asks people to join with him, not out of party loyalty, but out of love of country…”and together lets elect a sane competent person with international experience.”
Tell everyone you know. Get everyone you know registered to vote. Make sure everyone has a ride to the polls in November. Our country is too important to take a chance on Donald Trump being elected the next President of the United States.
