Ratings, ratings, ratings. As we have seen with Sarah Palin, it’s all about ratings. Fox News knows she’s an idiot, but they keep featuring her.
It seems that the same can now be said about Phil Robertson and the stars of “Duck Dynasty.” Mr. Robertson made extremely offensive remarks about homosexuals, and defended himself by indicating that his views were a reflection of the word of God from the Bible. Sarah Palin, being one of God’s friends, felt it appropriate to join in the defense of Robertson’s constitutional right to say whatever he wanted. Obviously Martin Bashir didn’t share those same constitutional rights.
Sarah Palin did an interview with Sean Hannity. In one interview, Palin and Hannity demonstrated to lunacy of their positions regarding sex and homosexuality.
First Palin suggested that she had a gay friend, as if she were qualified to speak about issues that affect the homosexual community, simply because she has a gay friend. Then Palin went on to say that:
“ She (the gay friend) emailed me to say she is outraged at A&E for the hypocrisy here, for the things that they air on their program that she finds offensive, yet A&E doesn’t fire a star or somebody involved in their programming based on what they said but they would when it comes to Phil on Duck Dynasty and this friend, she said that she would boycott A&E and that network, and uh, um, she’s not the only one,”
Palin then concluded that A&E thinks people will “boycott A&E programming since there are so many other channels out there to be watching.”
Then in a polar opposite remark, in the same interview, Palin said”
“That is so Americana, and it’s patriotic, its beautiful, its part of the heart of America, and we all need to be out there promoting and protecting the heart of America, we can do that by showing support for Duck Dynasty.”
It was like watching a person with dementia who couldn’t remember what she just said. Sarah Palin went from talking about being sensitive to the LGBT community to supporting a network who supports trash-talking the same community.
It was almost as absurd as Sean Hannity talking to Sarah Palin about the sin of pre-marital sex, when Palin was pregnant when she married, and her daughter was pregnant and never got married. Sean also mentioned the evils of extra-marital sex, when we know about Brad Hanson,
and Shailey Tripp.
Sean Hannity joined in the absurdity. He said that :
1. “Christians believe that pre-marital sex is a sin.” In America 78.4% of people are “Christian.” At the same time 97% of Americans have pre-marital sex.
2. Christians believe that having an extra-marital relation is a sin. However 34% of women and 32% of men in America must be sinners as they admit to being unfaithful.
Sean Hannity also indicated the the Left “wants to be our thought police.” The absurdity of that remark is that the Left would never be so foolish to think that people who spout such absurdities could ever be controlled or policed.
